Who doesn’t love banana bread ? Growing up banana bread was one of my favorite breakfast treats. My grandma would often make mini banana loaf cakes for me and my cousins, and I can remember enjoying it before I went to school in the mornings. She still makes these cakes for us, and they’re still just as delicious, but they’re more of a treat now than a breakfast staple.
I’m all for indulging in treats – and I totally believe that life is way to short to pass up things that we love just in the name of health. But I’m not blind to the fact that a lot of these treats have way more sugar, butter + oils than we probably need on a daily basis. Everything in moderation is fine, but if you’re like me.. don’t you kinda want to be able to eat a slice of banana bread for breakfast whenever and not worry about feeling blah after eating it ? I know you’re nodding your head.
